How to pick a new Tarot deck

Hello friends, welcome, welcome, welcome……

This weeks topic is on how to pick a new Tarot deck

There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of all the money I wasted in the beginning of my Tarot quest. Most of that money was wasted on decks of cards that I was just never going to connect with and ended up sitting here on a shelf that I called the Tarot storage shelf. The truth is even with the best of intentions, most of us will still end up having a whole slew of decks. Truth be told, we are constantly finding new decks that are amazing and we just cannot help ourselves, but that doesn’t mean that we need to have decks that we are just never going to resonate with or be able to use.

So, you ask, how do we prevent this from happening? I am glad you asked!! After I found new homes for about 30 different decks, I found a little trick that has helped out a lot. If you see a deck that you think you may be interested in, one great tool is Tarot.com. This is a site that will allow you to view images of a good number of decks before you make a purchase.

Let’s face it, the truth is we either resonate with a deck or we don’t based mostly on the artwork, so it is important to find images that speak to us. If tarot.com does not have what you are looking for, another valuable tool I have found is google…..right, who would have thought? If you google images of XYZ Tarot deck, you will get a good number of images that will help you to decide if it is a deck you think you will be able to connect with and use.

Another little tidbit that I had to learn the hard way is if you are anything like me, you will take your cards out of the box and throw the original box away because we have special Tarot Card holders. If this is you, you may want to label the holder as to which deck it holds. Cards will wear out!!! Especially if you are a very active reader, a deck may only last you 6 months. It is VERY easy to forget the name of the deck when it comes time to replace it and that is not a problem you want to have if it just happens to be a deck you absolutely love.

In closing, I am excited to see everyone’s perspectives! As forever students, we are always growing, learning and evolving which makes information exchanges very valuable to all of us. So, please feel free to express your thoughts and ideas, but please remember this is a spiritual safe zone. So we need to be kind, respectful and lacking of judgement so that everyone can feel comfortable sharing. In keeping this space safe when commenting, please make your comment without referencing another’s comment.

Lastly, if you see something that does not resonate with you, (and we all will) just remember the spiritual thing to do is just keep scrolling until you find the comments that do resonate with you.

Until next week, may you experience a level of joy and happiness as amazing as you!!!!!!
